Very low moisture carpet cleaning is a new process that is widely misunderstood.  Hot water extraction/steam cleaning has been at the forefront  of carpet cleaning for decades and most people are familiar with it.  Very low moisture carpet cleaning is a very new process that Restore Your Carpet is offering our valued clients in Jackson Hole and Star Valley WY areas.  This post is a quick one about one of the biggest questions that clients ask about this new process.  Where does the dirt go?  Since this process does not use any steam or truckmount vacuum extraction, people are left wondering how the dirt comes up out of the carpet.  The quick, vibrating, oscillations of our very low moisture encapsulation machine does most of the work, but the pads are left to answer the question...

You can clearly see the dirt that has made its way up into the pad in this shot.  What is left in the carpet has been encapsulated with the special chemicals that we use, and as the chemical dries, it is more easily vacuumed out during your regular vacuuming.  Encapsulation carpet cleaning is more of a chemical process than a spray and suck process like steam extraction.  Our experience is that it is not the end all, be all of carpet cleaning, but it definitely has its place in the maintenance of your carpet in your home or business.

This post is about the specialized equipment that we use to remove pet hair from carpets.  As you look at the middle of this room, can you see the pet hair?  Of course not.  However the carpet does look saturated with soils and has a balled up look to it.  Around the edges you can see some hair balls that the machine has pulled out that are still lying on the floor.

Here is another shot after the carpet has been scrubbed entirely.  Normal carpet cleaning with a wand will NOT pull this hair out like our CRB machine will.  Not even our ROTOVAC 360 will get this much hair out.  We vacuumed this carpet with a really expensive/high performance RICCAR vacuum before deep scrubbing it and still did not get this much out.  We do charge extra for this service, but in terms of how the carpet looks, feels, and most importantly...smells!

Does your carpet look like this even after you vacuum it?  It looks ratty, dingy, dirty, etc, etc.  I received a phone call from a lady that was a referral from a loyal customer.  I love these phone calls because it has been our experience that after people try our services and they see the level of knowledge and the quality of our work, they love to tell their friends about us.  This call was about another rental property that had pets in it.  The owner attempted to clean it themselves with the "Machine that will not be named," that they rented from the local hardware store.  Look at the result here.  This is the carpet AFTER I had vacuumed it with our commercial vacuum.  This is as good as I could make it look with a good vacuuming.  It still looks pretty bad.  The problem with this carpet is that it is completely saturated with soils, and pet hair.  I know this because of what my vacuum looked like when I was done pre-vacuuming the carpet.

This is after I cultivated a few gallons of hair out of this carpet with my counter-rotating-brush machine and vacuumed it up.  Notice how the carpet pile has been brought back to life and it is fluffy again?
